Some Nigeria National League (NNL) referees from the Kogi State Referees Council were involved in a road crash on Abuja-Kaduna Expressway on Wednesday, Kaduna Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said yesterday.
Speaking with LEADERSHIP Weekend the command’s assistant public relations officer, Route Commander Usman Garba, said the incident occurred at Kateri town, “I can confirm to you that the road crash
occurred at Kateri town. We are yet to get the details of the accident. But according to preliminary reports the accident occurred on Wednesday. The police men rescued them”
Garba also said three accidents which occurred in different locations were recorded on Friday on Abuja-Kaduna Highway.
Our correspondent gathered that the referees from Kogi who were their way to Kano for zonal fitness test and seminar had accident before Kaduna, leaving some of them injured.
The injured referees were taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
