An aspirant for the House of Representatives, Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency of Kogi State, John Yusuf Suberu, has unveiled a youth-focused campaign agenda built on employment, education, healthcare and legislative reforms ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the unveiling in Abuja over the weekend, Suberu, who is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said his manifesto is designed to address unemployment, improve access to quality education, strengthen healthcare delivery and promote inclusive growth across the constituency.

Suberu who is the special adviser on Road Safety Matters to Kogi State Governor, explained that youth empowerment and job creation form the core of his campaign, alongside plans to invest in human capital development and women inclusion.

According to him, the agenda includes an education endowment programme and community-based empowerment initiatives aimed at equipping young people with skills and opportunities.

The aspirant also outlined plans to enhance healthcare services and social welfare, pledging to support policies that guarantee improved living standards. He added that his legislative priorities would focus on sustainable development and responsive governance if elected into office.

Suberu, a former Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Road Safety Matters and former Senior Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Public Complaints Commission on Special Duties, described his ambition as a continuation of his commitment to public service.

“It is with honour and privilege that I welcome you to this historic occasion, the unveiling of my manifesto. My aspiration to represent the people of Adavi/Okehi is driven by a deep commitment to service and the desire to bring meaningful development closer to the people,” he said.

He noted that the agenda reflects extensive engagement with constituents and a clear understanding of local challenges, stressing that leadership must translate into tangible benefits for the people. “Today marks a defining moment in our collective journey towards securing the people’s mandate, fostering purposeful representation, ensuring accountability and delivering sustainable development across the constituency,” he added.

The event attracted stakeholders, political associates and supporters, including officials of the Public Complaints Commission, who described the manifesto as a practical roadmap for development.

A Deputy Director at the Commission, Ogala Kings, said the document demonstrates both administrative experience and grassroots connection, urging stakeholders to support its implementation.

He emphasised that effective representation would depend on collaboration, active citizen participation and sustained accountability, noting that the constituency stands to gain from a clear and focused development agenda.
