The Elders Caucus of the All Progressives Congress( APC) in Kwara Central has chided the former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki over his comments on the security challenges in the state.
The Caucus berated Saraki for “falling short of being an elder statesman and patriot”, going by his comments on a serious issue affecting innocent citizens, not only in Kwara, but in some parts of the country.
The APC elders responded to Saraki’s comment in a statement signed by the public relations officer of the Caucus, Sulaiman Sheu Abdulsalam (Cement)
The Caucus added:” Dr Bukola Saraki is playing politics with serious challenges faced by the entire Nigeria since the tenure of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umar Yar’alAdua, which is not peculiar to Kwara State.”
It praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s efforts at securing every part of the state and ensuring that residents leave peacefully.
It listed the governor’s strides at warding off criminals from the state to include the recruitment of about 3000 forest guards, support for vigilantes and enrolling them in state health insurance scheme; and collaboration with the office of the national security adviser, which is yielding positive results.
The APC caucus said it was surprised by the chameleonic traits of Saraki, noting ” how he has been romancing APC leaders in Abuja, yet he’s here attacking APC in Kwara .
It noted that the Saraki’s tactics were clear indications of a desperate politician, adding that, ” no amount of attack or blackmail from Saraki will return Kwara to the dynasty’s black-era.”
