An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Gbenga Oyekunle-Power has organised a special interdenominational prayer for Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The prayer was organised to seek God’s help at ensuring the success of the governor in his second tenure and in steering the affairs of the Nigeria’s Governors Forum (NGF).
The prayer sessions were led by the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Igbaja branch, Rev. Ezekiel Adebayo and Alh Saka Yusuf who stood in for Chief Imam of Igbaja, Sheikh Akorede.
Addressing a mammoth crowd at the event which was held in Igbaja, Hon. Gbenga- Power described Governor AbdulRazaq as a unique leader who has the interest of the masses at heart.
He said prayer is necessary so that the governor will continue to enjoy divine guidance.
He added it is no longer a matter of necessity but a mandate for the people of Kwara and most especially Igbaja community to give maximum support to Governor AbdulRazaq because he has proven that equity, justice and fairness are possible in governance.
He said Igbaja had never had it so good in terms of infrastructural development and political appointments in the history of the state.
In a message to the occasion, Governor AbdulRahmanAbdulRazaq, represented by his former Special Assistant on Inter-Party Affairs, Hon. Moshood Alaka, called for unity of purpose amongst the APC family and thanked Gbenga Power Foundation for donating an office to the party in Igbaja.
The APC chairman in Ifelodun local government area, AlhLateef Quadir-Oko-Ode said Gbenga Power is a philanthropist and grassroots politician who must be encouraged to do more for the masses
