Kwara Assembly Passes FOI, Water Bills Into Law

The Kwara State House Assembly on Tuesday, 20th April, 2025 passed the Kwara State Freedom of Information Bill 2025 and Kwara State Water User Association Bill 2025.

The two Bills were passed during the plenary following the submission of reports of the House Committees that worked on the them.

The chairperson, House Committee on Youths, Sports and Information, Hon. Rukayatu Shitu and the chairman, House Committee on Water resources, Hon. Yinusa Oniboki, in their reports said that most of the stakeholders that attended the public hearing organised by the Committees supported the provisions of the Bill s.

The Bills were thereafter read by the clerk of the House, Alhaji Ahmed Olayiwola for the third time before the final passage of the two bills.

The speaker of the House, Engr. Yakubu Danladi – Salihu directed the clerk of the House to produce clean copies of the Bills for the governor’s assent.
