The project conceived to beef up security in the area which had for long been served by the Alagbado Police Post, is the initiative of the Ibagun Progressive Union (IPU).

It was during the course of IPU’s soliciting for funds from the indigenes of the area that a member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Cook-Olododo who is an indigene of the area announced that he would include the construction of the facility in his 2022 constituency projects.

The IPU in collaboration with the Alangua Ibagun, Mal Sakariyau Ilufemiloye provided a part of the land of the Ondoko- Okelele market conceived since 1995 by the administration of the then Ilorin East local government for the construction of the police divisional headquarters.

Another indigene of Ibagun and the current special adviser on strategy to Kwara State governor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, who was the supervisory councillor for works in the council in 1995 was the prime mover of the citing of the Ondoko-Okelele Market.

The IPU leadership and the entire people of Okelele/Ibagun community were excited that the new police station will serve as a good complement to Ondoko market.
