Kwara Concludes Airlift Of Pilgrims For 2026 Hajj

The third batch of 557 intending pilgrims from Kwara State yesterday departed for the Saudi Arabia.

The pilgrims departed the Babatunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin, aboard a Max Air flight which took off at 10.09am.

Addressing the pilgrims before their departure at the Babatunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin, the executive secretary of the  State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, urged them to be law abiding, disciplined, and worthy ambassadors of Kwara State and Nigeria throughout their stay in the holy land.

Abdulkadir advised the pilgrims to avoid any act capable of tarnishing the image of the state and the country, stressing the importance of peaceful coexistence, patience, and mutual understanding among fellow pilgrims during the spiritual exercise.

He also charged them to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations guiding the Hajj operations, while praying for a successful and hitch-free pilgrimage for all pilgrims.

The chairman of the board, Prof.  Moshood Mahmud-Jimba, urged the intending pilgrims to remain focused on the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage.

The first batch of 374  intending pilgrims was on Wednesday airlifted to Saudi Arabia, while the second batch of 556 intending pilgrims also departed Ilorin for the holy land on Thursday aboard MaxAir.
