The Kwara State governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has awarded a sum of N1m to Shalom Adesina for his outstanding performance at the 2023 West African Examinations Council (WAEC-Internal).

Adesina, a student of Rehoboth College, Ilorin, scored distinctions in all the subjects he sat for in the examination.

The governor, represented by the commissioner for education and human capital development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu, presented the cash award to Adesina yesterday during a meeting at the ministry’s conference hall in Ilorin.

The governor noted that the cash award was to encourage and support Adesina in his academic pursuit.

Governor Abdulrazaq said that Adesina had done the state proud and deserved to be motivated.

In his remarks, the Principal of Rehoboth College, Mr Sheidu AbdulMalik, thanked the governor for his kind gesture.
