Mrs AbdulRazaq said that such centres became imperative to provide support and care for survivors of sexual and gender based violence.

She commended the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his kind disposition to the cause of women in the State.

She added that the governor’s support for women was evident in his assent to the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act and the Gender Inclusion Bill which ultimately reflected in his appointment of women and youth as state officials and thanked the governor for providing a space for the project.

The governor’s wife commended the Nigeria Governors’ Wives’ Forum for providing the funds to execute the project while also appreciating the Kwara State committee on sexual and gender based violence, the Ministry of Women Affairs, Health , Justice, Glowoc and other Civil Society Organisations for working tirelessly for the success of the project.
