Following the reported poor turn out of workers at some ministries and parastatals, the Kwara State government has directed the heads of its ministries and agencies to reactivate the time book register for their staff.
The state head of service, Mrs Susan Oluwole, gave the directive in Ilorin, the state capital yesterday after a routine visit to some of the government offices. She vowed to impose stiff penalties against absentee government workers.
Apparently enraged by the poor turn out of staff during her routine visit to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state capital, she warned that the government would not condone dereliction to duty.
She therefore directed that all heads of MDAs in the state service should immediately reintroduce the time book register for their staff.
Oluwole decried the nonchallant attitude of some workers to duty despite government’s efforts and commitment at providing conducive working environment and improved welfare package.
