The Kwara State government has presented critical medical equipment to the Dr. Amuda Aluko Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH) Ilorin.
The chief medical director of KWASUTH, Dr Bola Ahmed commended the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for sustaining quality healthcare delivery with the continuous provision of critical medical equipment that will not only contribute significant improvement to quality healthcare services, but will also position Kwara State as a pacesetter in the provision of sound and quality healthcare services in Nigeria.
“The supply of a comprehensive suite of medical equipment to KWASUTH is another landmark achievement of the present administration under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in its efforts to enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide quality healthcare services to Kwarans and its environs, ” he said.
Ahmed noted that, by investing in these critical medical devices, the state government has demonstrated its commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and patient outcomes.
He said, the equipment will support various medical specialties, including surgery, anesthesia, and emergency medicine.
The chairman of medical advisory committee, Dr Ogunlaja Idowu appreciated the state government’s gestures and its consistent support and dedication to providing adequate and affordable healthcare for Kwarans.
The equipment presented to the hospital include Surgical and Diagnostic Equipment, C-ARM Machine (10kw) which is a high-powered imaging system for precise surgical guidance, Operating Table which is a state-of-the-art table designed for optimal patient care during surgeries, Diathermy Machine, is an electrosurgical unit for precise tissue cutting and coagulation.
Others are Anesthesia and Respiratory Care, Anesthesia Machine which is also used to administer anesthesia during surgical procedures, Ventilator, and others.
