The commissioner for Health, Dr Amina  El-Imam who took delivery of the items, reaffirmed the state government’s commitments and dedication to strengthening nutrition interventions and reducing malnutrition-related morbidity and mortality in the state.

The supply, according to the commissioner, “was procured through Ariel Foods Nigeria and made possible through the UNICEF Child Nutrition Fund. A match-funding mechanism designed to provide life-saving nutrition commodities for vulnerable children.”

She disclosed that the gesture was made possible by the timely payment of the contribution of $100,000 by the state government, to UNICEF Child Nutrition Fund.

She added that, “the investment had directly facilitated the procurement and delivery of  vital consignment that would ensure effective management of acute malnutrition among children in the state. Kudos to our people’s Governor, Mallam AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq for the timely intervention.
