Kwara United have unveiled 16 new players ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season as the club intensifies preparations for a title challenge.

Speaking to journalists at the club’s secretariat in Ilorin on Wednesday, Chairman Kumbi Titiloye said the new arrivals were carefully recruited to strengthen the squad following the departure of players whose contracts had expired.

Titiloye revealed that the club retained 14 players from last season’s squad, explaining that those who left either completed their contracts or chose to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

He expressed confidence that the revamped squad possesses the quality needed to compete for major honours this season.

“Our objective is to finish at the top of the league and win every available trophy. We want to win the NPFL title and reclaim the President Federation Cup,” Titiloye said.

The chairman assured supporters that lessons had been learnt from last season’s campaign, insisting that the team would approach every fixture with renewed determination and focus.

“We will treat every match like a World Cup final. The mistakes of last season will not be repeated,” he added.

Titiloye also commended the Kwara State Government and the Kwara State Sports Commission for their continued support and investment in the club, describing their backing as vital to the team’s ambitions.
