Kwara Varsity ASUU Grants 5 Indigent Students Scholarships

Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) at the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has awarded scholarships to five indigent students of the institution.

Two of the beneficiaries were selected for the national ASUU awards while the remaining three were picked for the local branch awards.

The awardees are AbdulAzeez Abdullahi (Basic Medical Science ), N200,000;
Fasilat Yusuf (Pure and Applied Sciences ), N200,000; Emmanuel Abolarin (Engineering and Technology), N100,000; Deborah Ogechi (Pure and Applied Sciences), N100,000 and Abubakar Garba (Basic Medical Science ), N100,000.

The chairman of KWASU branch of ASUU, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Salau presented cheques to the five awardees at a brief ceremony held at the institution’s campus in Malete.

He congratulated the awardees, commending their academic excellence and encouraging them to continue their hard work.

Salau said that the scholarship is a testament to ASUU’s commitment to supporting indigent students and their parents.

The event was graced by the convener of the Scholarship Committee, Comrade Modupelola Falabi, the secretary, Comrade Abdullahi Bakare, Comrade Aliu Ashiru, Dr Abdulrasaq Mustapha, Dr Adekunle Bashiru and Dr Edward Akerele.

One of the beneficiaries, AbdulAziz Abdullahi, on behalf of others, thanked the leadership of ASUU at both the national and KWASU for the kind gesture.
