Supporters and members of Labour Party (LP) at the weekend trooped to the street in their large numbers in Ile-Ife, Osun State to mobilise support for the candidature of Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed in the forthcoming general elections.

Branded in T-shirts, Fez caps, the placard- carrying supporters who took off at Enuwa square, marched through major streets of the town in jamboree style singing to drive home their preference for Obi and Datti as the next leaders of a united Nigeria.

Speaking with newsmen atthe event, the Ile-Ife branch chairman of the party, Olamide Awosunle, said LP is the vehicle of a new Nigeria while Peter Obi is the driver.

His words, “As you can see the title for today’s rally is march for a new Nigeria, if you go by what we have been experiencing in the country, you will know that everything is not right with this nation, so we choose today which happened to be our Independence Day to really prophetically for a Nigeria of our dream.
