Facebook has launched the fifth edition of its pan-African campaign, “Made by Africa, Loved by the World,” spotlighting some of the continent’s most influential creatives, as effort to celebrate Africa Day

The creators include Nigerian rapper Ladipoe, Ghanaian dancer Lisa Quama, South African fashion designer David Tlale, Kenyan animation studio Fatboy Animations, Ghanaian photographer Gilbert Asante, and South African filmmaker Ofentse Mwase.

The communications director for Africa, Middle East, and Turkey at Meta, Kezia Anim-Addo in a press statement said the campaign is about more than just celebrating creative excellence, as it is about amplifying how culture and social media can connect people, ideas, and inspiration across continents.

“We are incredibly excited to shine a spotlight and celebrate just some of the amazing creative talent that casts a light on our African culture and connects us to the world. Facebook is a leading place for conversations around cultural moments, and through this campaign, we’re not only celebrating individual success stories – we’re also showcasing how culture and social media together can drive meaningful connection and inspiration,” Anim-Addo averred.

This year’s theme, “Where Culture Meets Connection,” highlights how African creativity continues to shape global culture through stories of identity, innovation, and artistic excellence.

At the heart of the campaign are cinematic short films premiering on the Meta Africa page, each capturing the personal stories, cultural roots, and artistic journeys of these six dynamic creators from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa.

Ladipoe, a BET Award nominee, is celebrated for fusing global hip-hop with African rhythm, helping to revive Nigerian rap with an authenticity that resonates across borders. Lisa Quama, who gained international attention after appearing in Beyoncé’s “Already” music video, brings energy and cultural pride to the screen through dance. She is paired with Gilbert Asante, a photographer and creative director whose rich visual storytelling has earned him features in GQ, Glam Africa, and other top publications.
