The State’s Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade consequently ordered the reorganisation of security personnel in crime-prone locations to curb instances of harassment and petty robbery.

Fayoade gave the directive when he visited Agege area of Lagos on a fact-finding mission following complaints of harassment and petty robberies along the rail lines in that area of the state.

Hence, CP Fayoade ordered a rejig of the security architecture in the area, charging DPOs within the vicinity to ensure optimal provision of security.

In another development, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest of a 25-year-old man, Toibu Hassan for illegal possession of firearms.

SP Hundeyin disclosed this on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday where he disclosed that the suspect was arrested in the Agege area of the state.

“Today, at 6 am, under the Agege Pen-Cinema bridge, Toibu Hassan, aged 25, was arrested by officers from Elere Division with one locally made pistol and one expended cartridge. Investigation is ongoing,” he stated.

The police image maker added that investigation is ongoing in the matter.
