At the event, the executive director of Diamond Development Initiatives (DDI), Adamu Garba, emphasised that the group is honoured to provide technical assistance in partnership with USADF to facilitate the success of Oriki’s spa and wellness entrepreneurship hub.

He said the initiative would undoubtedly create a positive impact on the wellness sector, saying that the event marked the beginning of a promising collaboration between USADF, LSETF, DDI and Oriki Group, with the shared goal of fostering entrepreneurship and economic empowerment in Nigeria’s spa and wellness industry.

He said, “The $85,000 grant from USADF and Lagos State Government, through LSETF, with technical support from Diamond Development Initiatives (DDI), will enable Oriki to establish a spa and wellness entrepreneurship hub, providing essential economic empowerment and skill improvement opportunities for wellness entrepreneurs”.

Joycee Awosika, CEO of Oriki Group, expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to partner with the US African Development Foundation and the Lagos State government to create an ecosystem where wellness entrepreneurs can thrive. This spa and wellness entrepreneurship hub will not only stimulate economic growth but also promote the well-being of our communities.”

On endorsing the agreement documents, the president and CEO of USADF, Travis Adkins, expressed appreciation for the initiative, emphasising that while hoping for its success was commendable and praying for it was powerful, the most pragmatic course of action was to invest in it.

In her remarks, the acting executive secretary of LSETF, Omolara Adewumi, stressed the Lagos State government’s dedication to job creation in line with the overarching goal of the state.
