The suspects, Azeez Folarin, 23-year-old man and Azeez Rilwan, ‘m’, 27, were arrested at about 7 am in front of Ikeja City Mall.

Spokesperson of Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of the duo who specialise in using one of the suspect’s medical conditions to perpetrate the robbery.

He said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects have robbed many motorists of their phones around Ketu and Ojota, and had been operating individually in Ketu, before coming together to exploit Rilwan’s chronic pile to rob unsuspecting motorists.”

Hundeyin added that the suspects were arrested by the RRS team stationed at the mall, immediately after Folarin snatched the mobile phone of a motorist who was trying to give alms to Rilwan having seen his medical condition.
