The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the deaths of two Nollywood production crew members discovered lifeless inside a parked vehicle at a movie location in Lekki.

The victims, lighting director Ekemini “GeeTee” Imeh and his associate, Ayodeji Walter Odediran, were found unresponsive on Saturday, February 7, within the premises of Evercare Hospital, which was being used as a filming location.

A police source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the press, said the deceased had arrived early at the movie location to install lighting equipment before shooting commenced.

After completing their work, the pair reportedly went to relax inside a Nissan vehicle parked within the premises.

The source said concern arose after repeated calls to them went unanswered and they were later found dead in the car.

He said: “The two crew members arrived early on set and completed installation of lighting equipment before shooting began.

“They were later said to have entered a tinted Nissan vehicle to rest while awaiting further production activities for a movie reportedly directed by former Big Brother Naija housemate Boma.

“At about 11 am, a production staff member allegedly delivered breakfast to them inside the vehicle. The air-conditioning was said to be on, and both men appeared relaxed at the time. While the filming was ongoing, calls to their phones went unanswered. It was after the filming ended around 8pm that their lifeless bodies were later found in the vehicle.”

According to the source, the victims were foaming at the mouth, while one had blood stains around the nose and lips.

Another police source said the case was immediately reported at Maroko Police Station.

“The case was reported at Maroko Police Station. The CCTV footage from the premises was being reviewed. The bodies have been deposited in a morgue pending forensic analysis.”

Imeh, until his death, was the Chief Executive Officer of a lighting company and had worked on major productions, including ‘King of Boys’ and music videos for artistes such as Davido.

The State Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the incident, noting the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department Panti for further investigation.

“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for further investigation while autopsy and toxicology examinations were being conducted to determine the cause of death.”

The incident occurred days after gospel artiste Matthew Ogundele, popularly known as Segun Praise, and three crew members were found dead inside a music studio in Abraham Adesanya area of Lagos.
