The Ndi IgboAmaka Progressive Market Association in Lagos State has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United Nigeria Airlines (UNA), officially adopting the carrier as its preferred airline partner.
According to a statement issued by the airline, the agreement was formalised in Lagos and signed by the association’s president, Mr. Chinedu Ukatu, alongside the managing director of United Nigeria Airlines, Mazi Osita Okonkwo.
The airline said the partnership is designed to provide association members, their families, customers, and business associates with a range of travel benefits, including discounted ticket fares, lounge access, and priority services.
As part of the rollout, United Nigeria Airlines announced an introductory offer of 50 tickets at a reduced fare of ₦80,000 for association members across its domestic routes.
Speaking on the development, Okonkwo said the initiative underscores the airline’s commitment to Nigeria’s trading community, which it estimates at more than 10 million traders nationwide.
“This partnership is about making travel easier, faster, and more rewarding for traders and their customers,” he said.
Ukatu described the agreement as a significant milestone, noting the long-standing relationship between United Nigeria Airlines, the association, and the airline’s chairman and founder, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, who also serves as the association’s grand patron.
He added that the collaboration would enhance travel convenience for traders operating within Lagos’ extensive commercial network, which connects millions of traders across the country.
Ukatu further stated that the airline’s strong safety record and consistent service delivery informed the association’s decision to adopt it as its preferred carrier.
