The Minister for Trade and Industry, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, has been appointed as an Ambassador for the Lagos Women Run, coinciding with the approach of the 2025 edition of the event.
The project’s coordinator, Tayo Popoola, informed our correspondent that Dr. Oduwole will serve as the Special Guest of Honour and a new ambassador for the LWR.
“We do this every year, and we are thrilled to have Dr. Oduwole confirmed as our special guest and ambassador this time around.
“There are many other plans in the pipeline to make this edition better than all previous ones.”
The event is scheduled for November 8, and the Lagos State Government has been working tirelessly with the organisers over the past weeks to enhance the previous editions.
The Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, is at the forefront of these efforts, urging all committee members to work diligently to ensure success.
The objective of the Lagos Women Run is to encourage women to embark on a journey towards fitness and overall well-being, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
LWR aims to support and foster the growing fitness culture across the continent while addressing critical issues affecting women, such as poverty, female child education, hunger, and gender equality.
