In a statement issued in Gusau on Friday, the Chairman and Secretary of the State’s Law Students’ Forum, Mubasshir Umar and Mahmud Sani-Kaura, said that over 90 per cent of the students faced financial difficulties, making it challenging to afford the exorbitant registration fees.

“Admission into the law school is once a year which is secured before the fees are paid, this is our burden.

“Traditionally due to exorbitant school fees of the Nigerian Law School, state governments, especially in northern Nigeria pay the registration, mobility and logistics for their indigent law students who qualified and admitted into the school.

“We are appealing for urgent intervention of our kind-hearted state governor Dauda Lawal,” it said.

The students stressed the urgency of the situation to ensure they meet the registration deadline, underscoring the importance of the governor’s prompt assistance.

Additionally, they commended the governor for declaring a state of emergency in the education sector within the state.
