The member representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ime Okon, has expressed grief over the passing of the mother of national chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda.

Hon. Okon, in his condolence message, described the death as “the departure of a rare matriarch whose life embodied the finest virtues of faith, resilience, discipline, and service to humanity.” He noted that her transition was not only a personal loss to the Yilwatda family but a painful blow to the wider community and the nation at large.
“Mama Lydia Yilwatda was more than a mother to her children; she was a fountain of wisdom, a pillar of strength, and a guiding light to all who encountered her. Her character, her faith, and her selfless devotion remain a testimony to the power of a life well lived,” Hon. Okon said.
He further remarked that her passing at this critical time in the nation’s history carried a deeper significance.

“Nigeria is in dire need of exemplary figures of moral courage and enduring faith.
