Lawmaker Empowers 2,000 Constituents In Bauchi

The member representing Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa federal constituency, Hon Jafaru Gambo Leko has distributed empowerment items to over 2000 people drawn from the three local government areas that made up his constituency.

 Flagging off the distribution of the items under the ‘Jafaru Gambo Leko Business and Economic Empowerment Programme’, the lawmaker said the gesture was to help ameliorate the sufferings of the beneficiaries, especially at the moment when the country is grappling with economic hardship occasioned by fuel subsidy removal. He promised to embrace all his constituents irrespective of party affiliation.

  Leko who declared that he will continue to be a leader for all, announced that over 2,000 of his constituents mostly women and youths would benefit from the empowerment programme.

 The lawmaker while assuring that the plights of the people of Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa will always remain his topmost priority, vowed to offer people-oriented representation to the benefit of his constituents.

 “Youths and women empowerment will be in the forefront of my leadership style”, he pledged.

 Leko further reiterated his unwavering commitment to the provision of job opportunities and scholarships to the youths in order to address the rate of idleness among them.

 He revealed that he has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University to sponsor 30 youths from the constituency to study medicine at the university.

Leko while soliciting prayers from his constituents to enable him to succeed at appeal court where his election victory is being challenged, described the move as an effort by his opponent to distract him from discharging his duties effectively.

 Also speaking, the speaker House of Representatives, Dr Tajuddeen Abbas commended the people of Dass, Tafawa Balewa Bogoro local government areas for voting Leko as their representative.

Represented by the member representing Mikang/ Kwanpang Shendam federal constituency, Hon Isaac Kyale Kwalu, the speaker described Hon Jafaru Gambo Leko as a dedicated and vibrant leader who is capable of representing them at the National Assembly very well.
