Ajiya, who presented N30,000 each to the beneficiaries in his Abaji hometown, weekend, said the aim is to assist market women especially petty traders who are into various kinds of trade.

He said such a gesture was part of his 2023 campaign where he promised to support the market women who are mostly pretty traders with grants to enable them to do business of their choice.

According to him, the market women were selected from across each political ward of Abuja south, which he said comprised of Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada, and Kuje federal constituencies.

Ajiya appreciated the women for their patience and prayers that saw him winning at both the tribunal and Appeal Court.

“I believe we can all recall how my opponents, PDP and Labor Party, both filed petitions against my victory at the polls as duly elected member of the House of Representatives for Abuja South. But today, we give glory to God we can emerge victorious,” he said.

He appealed to those who did not benefit from the first phase of the grant to be patient, assuring them that they would benefit during the second phase of the grant in no distant time.
