Lawmaker Empowers 6,000 Constituents In Zamfara

A member of the House of Representatives, representing Kaura Namoda/ Birnin Magaji federal constituency in Zamfara State, Aminu Sani Jaji has launched an empowerment scheme for over 6,000 constituents as part of his intervention in the country’s current economic hardship.

Speaking while flagging off the empowerment scheme in Kaura Namoda town yesterday, Jaji who is the chairman House Committee on Ecological Funds, said the scheme is aimed at alleviating the suffering of the masses in the constituency and Zamfara at large.

The lawmaker, who was represented by the former chairman of Birnin Magaji local government council Alhaji Muhammadu Umar, said the gesture will affect all 480 polling units in the two LGAs.

Umar who doubled as the chairman distribution committee of the empowerment scheme said a total of 3000 bags of rice, 4,500 bags of fertilizer, 200 sewing machines, 100 knitting machines, 500 pasta machines was procured for distribution to the various groups of beneficiaries.

“Some of the women beneficiaries will receive pasta machines with one bag of flour while the 20 welding machines will be for some unemployed trained welders.

“A 200 pieces of POS machines ( Monie point) to trained selected 200 POS operators with cash assistance of N10 million.

 

“Also 105 borehole machines would be given to 105 youths trained for borehole repairs with N10 million cash,” the Lawmaker explained.

 

Speaking earlier, the secretary of the distribution committee, Mansur Khalifa-Kaura said the beneficiaries were drawned from the 21 political wards in Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji LGAs.
