A member of the House of Representatives, representing Ibaji, Idah, Igalamela/Idolu Federal Constituency of Kogi State, David Idris Zacharias, has facilitated the training of 240 youths and women, on various skills in Kogi State.
The training which was held over the weekend in Kogi State was hosted by the National Institute of Construction Technology And Management in collaboration with ICENT Construction Company Limited with participants drawn from the Reps Constituency.
Zacharias said the choice of empowering over 240 of his constituency members was in fulfillment of his campaign promises to empower young people and women.
According to him “ This empowerment is in fulfillment of some of my campaign promises, to empower our youth and mothers, to alleviate poverty and create a better standard of living for our people.
“Mechanised farming will not only boost their productivity but will help address the current drudgery that has been associated with the Nigerian youth in agriculture. The result of this is that the youths will not only do better in their work but will help boost the food production in Kogi state and subsequently Nigeria.
This is not the first and will not be the last, we will continue to support our people and ensure the standard of living is boosted for all.
Beneficiaries were assembled from Abaji, Idah, Igalamela/Idolu Federal Constituency with the full support of community leaders.
Speaking on behalf of ICENT Construction Company Limited, Newton Anderson stated this was a critical moment to get people empowered in various entrepreneurial ventures. In his words
“This is a critical moment to get people involved in various entrepreneurial ventures, to acquire basic skills capable of making them drivers and triggers of economic revolutions. I will on behalf of my company ICENT Construction Company Limited, give all beneficiaries the relevant information that would help them in their respective businesses”
He added that beneficiaries were trained and empowered to start up chemical Works, liquid soap making, air fresheners, Vaseline, and Perfume among others.
For Musa Aminat Peace from OFU LGA, who learned the Makeup, gentle, is ready for business.
“I learned how to do make-up and tie gyele o. It is a very good business now, I can tie gele for those who want to do wedding and even makeup, God bless our Honourable) she enthused.
