The Management of LEADERSHIP Group has partnered with Defence Headquarters (DHQ) to counter terrorist propaganda.

The Vice Chairman of LEADERSHIP Newspaper, Mr Mike Okpere, in his remarks during the courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, said the activities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) have been under-reported, hence the need to offer the military the platform to tell stories of its heroic deeds.

He said, “We are here to offer you our platform to interact with Nigerians”.

The Group Managing Director (GMD) Muazu Elazeh said the LEADERSHIP brand is passionate about the country since the military and the brand are confronted with a common enemy.

He said, “We all know we have a common enemy; the terrorists rely on propaganda to instil fear in the people, so we want to partner with you to counter their narrative. The Defence under your leadership can take advantage of our various platforms to tell your stories,” he said.

Responding, the CDS, General Christopher Musa, said it was heartwarming that LEADERSHIP offers platforms to the armed forces to tell their stories.

He said the LEADERSHIP brand is well known and respected across the globe.

He said, “We and the enemies are fighting for the attention of the people; your proposal is something we can look into; in this unconventional warfare, the media plays a critical role,”

He, however, reiterated that tackling insecurity requires a whole of society approach.
