The management of LEADERSHIP Group Limited will today inaugurate a Board of Trustees in honour of Auwalu Salisu, a Kano-based commercial tricycle rider.
Auwalu earned recognition and accolades for his honesty in returning N15 million he found in his tricycle, to its owners.
A statement from the LEADERSHIP revealed that the trustees board will be inaugurated today at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja at 10am.
According to the statement, the trustee will comprise representatives from the Niger State government, LEADERSHIP, the Sam Nda-Isaiah Foundation, and Auwalu’s family.
In March 2023, Auwalu was named LEADERSHIP’s Outstanding Young Person of the Year for his remarkable act of honesty in returning the N15 million.
During the event, Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago promised him a total of N250 million, which included N50 million scholarships from himself, President Bola Tinubu, ministers, the APC Governors’ Forum, and the Niger State government.
The governor recently fulfilled the pledge of N250 million to Salisu, hence the constitution of the trustee.
The trustee is expected to oversee the use of these funds, including provisions for Auwalu’s education and upskilling, among other initiatives.
