New details have surfaced linking Nigerian singer and dancer Peter Okoye, popularly known as ‘Mr P’, to an EFCC investigation involving his twin brother, Paul Okoye.

Peter had previously denied reporting Paul in the alleged fraud case involving their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye. However, documents now circulating online appear to present a different account.

The documents include posts shared by Peter on his verified Instagram page on August 12, 2024, where he addressed the matter directly.

Peter wrote:

“I challenge PAUL, or anyone else, to produce any petition that I, Peter Okoye, my management or my legal team ever filed against my twin brother PAUL, or that even mentions his name.”IMG 2580

However, a petition dated 29 January 2024 and signed by Peter Okoye reportedly asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to investigate Paul Okoye’s financial records from 2004 to the present.

According to reports by ThisDay, the petition also requested an investigation into Jude’s wife, Ifeoma. This was despite claims that Jude did not meet her until late 2013.

Part of the petition reads: “…I will appreciate it if the commission can investigate the account of Northside Music Ltd from 2015 till date, the account of Northside Entertainment Ltd from 2007 till date, the account of Jude Chidozie Okoye from 2004 till date, the account of Paul Nonso Okoye from 2004 till date, and the account of Umeokeke Ifeoma Okoye from 2004 till date.”IMG 2581

Investigations showed that Paul was briefly detained after responding to an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. He was later released after meeting his bail conditions.

The development appeared to conflict with earlier claims by Peter Okoye that his twin brother was not involved in the fraud allegations.

Following Peter’s petition and the EFCC’s investigation, Jude Okoye and his companies were subsequently arraigned before both a Federal High Court and a Lagos State High Court.
