LeAnn Rimes has deferred two scheduled performances in the United States after being struck by a serious illness, shortly after celebrating her wedding anniversary in Mexico.
The 43-year-old singer revealed via Instagram Stories on Wednesday that she would be unable to travel or take to the stage in Spokane and Seattle, where she had been billed to perform on April 30 and May 1. “Due to severe illness, I am unable to travel & perform this week,” she stated.
Rimes conveyed her disappointment over the cancellations but reassured fans that both concerts would be rearranged for next month. “I am truly heartbroken to have to reschedule, and I am so very grateful for your kindness and continued support as I recover,” she added, indicating she hopes to resume performing soon.
The development comes days after the singer marked her 15th wedding anniversary with her husband, Eddie Cibrian, during a romantic retreat in Cabo. The pair, who wed on April 22, 2011, shared highlights from the trip online.
Despite the celebratory mood, Rimes also alluded to unspecified “serious issues” at home, though she did not elaborate further.
