Dow Africa Kick Off 2025 Youth Day of Service to Drive Youth-Led Change Across Africa

LEAP Africa, in partnership with Dow Global Materials Science Company and other regional collaborators, has launched the 2025 edition of the Youth Day of Service (YDoS), an annual pan-African campaign celebrating youth leadership, volunteerism, and community impact.

Now in its sixth year and themed: ‘From Ideas to Impact,’ YDoS 2025 invites young people across Africa to design and implement service projects between August 1 and 31. Activities will span education, health, climate action, gender equality, and civic engagement.

“By supporting the Youth Day of Service, we aim to inspire young people to harness their creativity and energy for the betterment of their communities,” said Public Affairs leader, Dow Africa, Mumbi Keega.

Since its inception, YDoS has mobilised over 20,000 youth volunteers in 30+ countries, delivered more than 4,000 community projects, and facilitated collaboration between young change makers, the private sector, civil society, and government.

Organisers said they aim to double that impact this year through increased project grants, mentorship, and storytelling opportunities to showcase youth-led initiatives continent-wide.

“Youth Day of Service is more than a campaign; it’s a continent-wide call to action that transforms potential into impact,” said the executive director of LEAP Africa, Kehinde Ayeni.
