Legal Practitioners Remuneration Order Will Curb Quackery – NBA

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Makurdi branch has disclosed that Legal Practitioners Remuneration Order in place will help in checkmating the activities of quacks in the profession.

The chairman of the bar, Barr. Maimuna Ikwulono who disclosed this during the one year anniversary of the exco, explained that the remuneration order will help in unifying the charges of legal practitioners especially those in private adding that by this order, all charges will be unified.

Unveiling the NBA Makurdi websites, the chairman said it will help to open the branch to the world and for the world to know about the activities of the branch.

 “From today, Makurdi branch will be connected to the whole world, our information will become global and this will strengthen our communication link globally, so what we did is taking Makurdi NBA to the world and this will also put us on our toes,” the chairman said.

The association also unveiled the Bar Foyer Hall which has the capacity of hosting over 100 people and explained that the construction of the Bar Foyer has also helped the association to save cost.

“From February 2023 to date we have started using this foyer that is 90 percent completion and it has saved us a lot of cost like going out there to rent halls to hold our meetings and other things, I want to commend the efforts of the immediate past EXCO for their efforts in starting the hall which we immediately took over as we came on board,” the chairman added.

Ikwulono also informed that within one year of her administration, as the first female chairman of the Bar since the creation of Benue State, she was able to get mobility and conveyed members wherever they want to go.
