Liverpool have seen a club-record bid for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker, Florian Wirtz, rejected according to BILD.

Reds boss, Arne Slot, has made Wirtz his number one transfer target this summer.
Slot is looking to bolster a team that has won a Premier League title in his first season on Merseyside.
Wirtz played a key role as Leverkusen won an unlikely Bundesliga title in 2023-24.

The 22-year-old has long been linked with a move to their domestic rivals, Bayern Munich.
Manchester City have also been tracking Wirtz, with Pep Guardiola reportedly viewing him as the perfect successor to Kevin De Bruyne as the club’s primary creative outlet.

In recent weeks, however, Anfield has emerged as the most likely destination for the Germany international – with Wirtz having already agreed personal terms for a move.
Liverpool went ahead to submit a bid worth €130 million (£110 million).

However, this offer has been rejected, with Leverkusen demanding €150 million (£127 million) for their prized asset.
