The development followed the release of the guidelines for conducting local government elections by the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC).

The state party chairman, Barr. A. T. Shehu, disclosed this at a press briefing on the party’s preparation for the elections at the PDP Secretariat in Yola.

Shehu announced a 50 percent discount for people with special needs and assured credible and impartial conduct of the party’s primary elections.

The party chairman said that, in line with the electoral commission timetable, the PDP had fixed June 7-12 to sell forms for chairmanship and councillorship positions. Sales for Ad-hoc delegate forms are slated for 10th June, and completed forms will be submitted on June 13-14.

Similarly, the screening of aspirants will take place on June 15th-16th, the party congress will nominate three ad hoc delegates on June 17th, and the display of screened aspirants will be held on June 19th.

Furthermore, the appeal hearing will be on June 20, the councillorship primary election will take place on June 21st, while the chairmanship primary will be on June 22, and the primary polls appeal, if any, will be on June 23.

Shehu revealed the cost of the chairmanship form is N9 million, the interest form N100,000, the councillorship form goes for N100,000, and the interest form N20,000.

The PDP state working committee promised a level playing ground, insisting that the party had no anointed candidates.
