LG Electronics has partnered with AXA Mansard Health to provide free malaria insurance to Nigerians, particularly its customers.

According to the two firms, the initiative, launched under LG’s Life’s Good Care Campaign, aims to reduce the burden of malaria on Nigerian families by offering insurance coverage for malaria treatment, improving access to healthcare services, and raising awareness about prevention.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Nigeria accounted for 26 percent of global malaria cases in 2023—the highest worldwide—underscoring the urgency of interventions to tackle the disease.

Speaking on the partnership, the managing director of LG Electronics West Africa, Hyoung Sub Ji, said the company’s commitment goes beyond technology to improving lives. “Our partnership with AXA Mansard allows us to deliver practical healthcare protection to the people who matter most—our customers and communities,” he stated.

Also speaking, the chief distribution officer, AXA Mansard and director, AXA Mansard Health, Jumoke Odunlami, emphasised the importance of accessible and affordable healthcare. “Malaria is one of the most preventable diseases, yet it continues to affect millions. Working with LG enables us to extend the reach of our malaria insurance plans and protect more families,” she said.

In a statement, LG Electronics said, “Through the initiative, LG customers will enjoy access to AXA Mansard Health’s Standard, Classic, and Premium Malaria-care plans, which provide telemedicine services, access to prescribed drugs at accredited pharmacies with free delivery in Lagos, and nationwide coverage through over 1,000 hospitals under the Premium Plan. The partnership reinforces LG’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and reflects its efforts to extend care beyond technology by offering tangible healthcare benefits to Nigerian families.”
