The former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has charged the PDP chairmanship and councillors candidates participating in the Lagos State local government election slated for July 12, 2025, to be courageous and intensify their campaigns.

Chief George gave this charge on Wednesday at his office in Ikoyi, when flags were presented to the party candidates. He also assured party members that the PDP crisis would be resolved before the month ended.

He explained that the fact that the party in the state fields candidates for the local government election has dispelled the rumour in some quarters that the party is dead.

“The essence of today’s event is to convince the people of Lagos State that the rumours that PDP is dead is an irresponsible statement that anybody can say, how can an iroko tree die. I pitied some governors and members of the PDP jumping ship. What happened in Yobe State last Sunday showed the beginning of the end of the APC.

“What has the APC government done to favour Nigerians that warrants recognition? Millions of Nigerians are suffering under the APC government.”

Chief George urged the Chairmanship and councillor candidates to campaign on the PDP’s achievements in government and highlight the APC’s flaws, which have turned Nigerians into miserable people.

“Be courageous enough and genuinely campaign to the people, convince the electorate on the good plans the PDP has for them,” he said.
