Founder and Executive Director of Bilmor Centre, Bilkisu Magoro, has built an educational and skills-acquisition platform for children and young adults with special needs, improving their life chances.

Working across four continents, Magoro manages a wide portfolio. She is an international affairs business consultant, a member of the African Business Roundtable, an advocate for women’s empowerment, and deeply involved in politics at several levels.

Magoro’s curiosity about how teenagers and adults with special needs were becoming less visible in society, in social and work spaces, led her down the path of educating and giving life skills to a wide range of vulnerable people and families.

The Bilmor Centre is about ten years old and has custom-built training techniques for the educational needs of children with learning disabilities, with autism, behavioural, physical and emotional challenges.

Outside the usual curriculum of everyday schools, Bilmor Centre personalises the learning experience, offering lessons in written articulation, life skills, instruction, and therapy for expressive and receptive language skills.

Before setting up the Bilmor Technical and Vocational Centre in 2016, Magaro founded the Ismor Magoro Foundation in 2009, an NGO advocating for women and youth empowerment, aligned with the UN’s MDGs and the successor SDGs.
