The beneficiary schools are Methodist Primary School, Oga Primary School, Ayangburen Primary School, Muslim Primary School and African Bethel Primary School.

The donation was part of the club’s activities to mark the beginning of the new Lions’ service year, which officially commenced on July 1.

During the handover ceremony, president of Eko Centennial Lions Club, Kehinde Mustapha, emphasised the importance of creating clean, safe and health-conscious learning environments for children.

She noted that the initiative aligns with the Lions Clubs International’s global campaign on environmental sustainability and public health awareness.

“As we begin a new Lions’ year, we are focusing on projects that directly impact the well-being of our communities.

“By providing waste bins, we are encouraging proper waste disposal and hygiene among pupils, and with the first aid boxes, we aim to improve emergency response to minor injuries within school premises,” Mustapha said.

The club’s secretary, Lion Mufutau Oladele collaborated with the president, urging wealthy Nigerians to join the club in uplifting the needy to make the society better.

Appreciating the kind gesture, the Education Secretary of Ikorodu local government, Mr Odumbo Abiodun, commended the club for supporting the government to raise the standard of education in the state.

“We appreciate the Eko Centennial Lions Club for doing this. We believe that it is not easy to give a token out of nothing. It shows what humanity is all about and it also shows how passionate you are about humanity. It’s not all about having millions before you can give out. It is an act of kindness,” he said.
