Radio listeners in Kebbi State have expressed their appreciation to Governor Nasir Idris for upgrading the state owned radio ( Kebbi Radio).

One of the listeners and a member of Zabi Sonka Social group,  Mohammed Wuri -Gauri commended the governor while speaking with LEADERSHIP yesterday in Birnin Kebbi.

He said that Kebbi Radio can now compete with other radio stations in the country with the present equipment and gadgets installed in the station which the governor purchased through the commissioner for information and culture,   Yakubu Ahmed.

Another listener,  Malam Zayyanu from Nasarawa area in Birnin Kebbi thanked the governor for giving priority to all sectors including information.

Commissioner for information, Yakubu Ahmed BK, has since announced the comprehensive upgrade of Kebbi Radio, a key broadcasting outlet for the state, under the visionary leadership of Governor Nasir Idris.

He said that, Kebbi Radio previously plagued by operational challenges and infrastructural neglect, has now been transformed.

According to him,  the governor recognised the urgency for reform and directed the complete revitalisation of the station. Prior to this, the radio station faced a range of issues including dilapidated studios, outdated control rooms, and low staff morale, alongside fire-damaged office blocks.

He noted that in response, Governor Idris prioritized the rehabilitation of both Kebbi Radio and Kebbi TV, resulting in significant progress. Fire-ravaged offices have been refurbished, modern office furnishings provided, and new toilets constructed, creating a more functional and conducive working environment.

Similarly, the studios and control rooms have undergone full upgrades for the first time since the station’s inception. These improvements include modern soundproofing, tiled floors, and enhanced air conditioning systems to protect equipment and boost durability, ensuring an efficient broadcasting environment,” he added.
