The Nigerian international winger has emerged as a top target for Galatasaray’s head coach, Okan Buruk, as the club seeks to bolster its squad for the upcoming season.

Lookman, who has previously represented the likes of Everton and Leicester City, is known for his pace and flair on the wing. He is expected to benefit from the presence of his compatriot and fellow Super Eagles teammate, Victor Osimhen, should he complete a transfer to Istanbul.

Osimhen’s potential influence could play a crucial role in swaying Lookman’s decision, as they aim to rekindle their successful partnership on the international stage.

Earlier in the summer, Lookman made headlines when he expressed his desire to leave Atalanta for Serie A rivals Inter Milan, leading to a transfer request and a brief disappearance from training as tensions heightened following the rejection of Inter’s bid.

His determination to play at a higher level is clear, and a move to Galatasaray could provide him with the opportunity to thrive in a competitive environment.

Reports suggest that Galatasaray are considering an initial loan arrangement for Lookman, with an option to secure a permanent deal at the end of the season. This strategy could be beneficial for both clubs, allowing Galatasaray to assess Lookman’s impact before committing fully.

Currently, Lookman has a market value estimated at €40 million, according to Transfermarkt, and he has two years remaining on his contract with the Bergamo-based club. As the summer transfer window draws closer, all eyes will be on the developments regarding Lookman’s future, with fans eager to see if he will indeed join forces with Osimhen at Galatasaray.
