Ademola Lookman has earned a spot in SofaScore’s Copa del Rey Team of the Semi-finals following his instrumental role in Atletico Madrid’s hard-fought aggregate victory over Barcelona.

The Nigeria international delivered a standout performance over the two legs, securing an impressive average rating of 8.0. Lookman made his mark in the first leg at the Estadio Metropolitano, scoring one goal and setting up another in Atletico’s commanding 4-0 win.

Although he played 58 minutes in the return fixture at the Spotify Camp Nou—a match Barcelona won 3-0—the result was enough to send Atletico through to the final with a 4-3 aggregate scoreline.

Lookman was among six Atletico players recognized in the semi-finals best XI. Goalkeeper Juan Musso led the defensive contingent with an 8.1 rating, while David Hancko anchored the backline with a 7.4. The highest-rated player in the lineup was Nahuel Molina, who topped the charts with an 8.8 for his influential displays across both matches.

Real Sociedad, who secured their place in the final after narrow 1-0 victories home and away against Athletic Bilbao, contributed four players to the team. Defender Jon Martin was their highest-rated representative with an 8.6, while midfielders Carlos Soler and Benat Turrientes posted 7.4 and 7.7, respectively. Winger Goncalo Guedes rounded out their selections with a 7.3 rating.

Barcelona’s Jules Kounde, rated 8.2, was the sole player from the losing side to make the cut.

Atletico Madrid, led by the in-form Lookman, are now set to face Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey final on April 18 in Seville. A victory would end a 13-year trophy drought in the competition for Los Colchoneros, who last lifted the cup in 2013.

It would also see Lookman become the first Nigerian player to win the tournament since Emmanuel Amunike achieved the feat with Barcelona in 1997.
