The centre aims to save Nigerians the cost of medical tourism by offering comprehensive and cutting-edge medical care locally.

This initiative was highlighted by the Chief Operating Officer of LMC, Dr. Anthony Oseghale, during the International Loveworld Medical Symposium on Radionuclide Therapy and Oncology in Lagos.

Dr. Oseghale emphasised that with their state-of-the-art medical technology, Loveworld Medical Centre will provide advanced and trusted care to Nigerians who frequently seek medical treatment abroad. He underscored the financial benefits for patients, noting that the costs of international travel, accommodation, and treatment can now be significantly mitigated by accessing comparable services domestically.

“Today, we are excited to introduce nuclear medicine, opening new opportunities for advanced medical care. The installation and commissioning of our Gamma Camera marks a significant milestone, and we eagerly anticipate the benefits this technology will bring to our patients,” Dr. Oseghale stated.

Also speaking at the event, the Clinical Director, LMC, Dr. Emeka Eze, elaborated on the advantages of nuclear medicine, highlighting its targeted approach in treating diseases such as cancers, thyroid disorders, and arthritis. He emphasized the method’s effectiveness in specifically targeting damaged cells, thereby minimizing side effects and reducing hospital stays compared to traditional treatments like chemotherapy.

“Nuclear medicine targets only the affected cells, unlike chemotherapy which affects all fast-growing cells simultaneously. This focused approach not only enhances treatment outcomes but also improves patient comfort and recovery times,” Dr. Eze explained.

In her remarks, the Executive Chairman, LMC, Dr. Deola Phillips, reiterated the centre’s commitment to advancing radionuclide therapy. She emphasised that the treatment utilises radioactive isotopes to precisely target and eliminate diseased cells.

“Our integrated approach combines cutting-edge diagnostic imaging with tailored treatment plans across various medical specialties. This ensures that each patient receives comprehensive and compassionate care close to home,” Dr. Phillips affirmed.

Guided by the vision of the founder of Loveworld Inc., Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, Loveworld Medical Centre aims to lead the healthcare industry in Nigeria by offering accessible, high-quality services that meet international standards. The centre’s holistic approach to healthcare emphasises innovation and technology, contributing to the enhancement of healthcare services not only within Nigeria but also on a global scale.
