Voting in the ongoing by-election for the Nasarawa North Senatorial District commenced early in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Saturday.

Our correspondent reports that the by-election is scheduled to take place in the three local government areas that make up the senatorial district.

In most polling units across the Nassarawa Eggon Local Government headquarters, voting commenced at about 9:00 a.m.

However, there was a low turnout of voters across the polling units visited.

At Polling Unit 013 in Angwan Galadima, prospective voters were seen queuing and being accredited.

Those who had already cast their votes were asked to leave the polling venue.

At Polling Unit 011, located at the Aren Eggon Palace, there was a delay due to technical issues with the biometric accreditation process.
