The ongoing by-election holding across 12 electoral wards in Ibadan North Federal Constituency has witnessed low turnout of voters.
LEADERSHIP reports that the election which was scheduled to commence at 8:30am did not start at the time in most polling units visited.
Although the electoral officers and voting materials arrived at some of the units before time, voters did not show up as at 8:30 am when the election started.
No voters had arrived at Ward 6, Unit 6 as at 8:26 when our correspondent left the unit.
The same was the situation at Ward 10, Unit 28 at Old Bodija area where no voters was seen when our correspondent left the unit around 9:02 am.
However, voting exercise began at Ward 10 Unit 27 around 9:07am, and 9:10am at Ward 10 unit 11.
Heavy presence of security personnel characterised the exercise as they mounted vigilance across the voting areas.
