A frontline Labour Party (LP) aspirant in the November 8 Anambra State governorship election, Mr John Nwosu. has lamented that insecurity has rendered the economy of the state comatose.
He told members of the “Obedient Movement” in the state at a meeting yesterday in Awka that the incumbent governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo promised during his campaign that his administration would transform Anambra State into an African-Dubai orTaiwan but regretted that the state within the three years of the current administration has become “an eyesore.”
He urged the party supporters to join forces with him to stop Soludo’s second term and to ensure that he won the governorship election.
Nwosu said that his governorship victory would pave the way for the victory of their leader and LP 2023 presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, in the 2027 presidential election.
He said, “Jointly, we are fighting to salvage Anambra. Our state under Soludo is now an eyesore. It’s insecure. It has become a fetid dish of crime, criminality and bloodletting. This has to change. Such carnage has to end!
“In 2017, Soludo selfishly stated that ‘Anambra was not broken, so why fix it?’ But karma has an address. Since its creation, Anambra is in its worst possible shape under his leadership. He inherited a broken state and made it worse.
“Under his watch, Anambra has regressed economically due to insecurity. This lack of leadership has also impacted negatively on the entire South East.”
