The Founder of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has urged the newly elevated Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Barrister Sagir Sulaiman Gezawa, to mentor law students and young legal practitioners.
Gwarzo made the call while congratulating Gezawa on his elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria by the Chief Justice of Nigeria at a ceremony held on Monday.
In a congratulatory statement issued by the President of MAAUN, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Israr, the university described Gezawa’s elevation as recognition of his hard work, professional excellence and commitment to the legal profession and social justice.
“Your elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria is a testament to your hard work, dedication and unwavering commitment to the legal profession and social justice,” Israr said.
The university president expressed hope that Gezawa would use his new status to inspire and guide aspiring lawyers, particularly law students and young practitioners seeking to build careers in the legal profession.
“I hope you will continue to serve as a role model to law students and upcoming legal practitioners, inspiring them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and service to society,” he added.
Gwarzo congratulated Gezawa on the achievement and urged him to sustain his contributions to the legal profession and the administration of justice in Nigeria.
