American Actress, Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey, The High Note), has finally responded to the negative criticisms of the Spider-Man spinoff Madame Web in which she is the protagonist.

Johnson who played the clairvoyant paramedic forced to confront her past and protect the lives of three women from a mysterious adversary who wants them dead, said the superhero movie was a learning experience that she would probably never repeat, stating “I don’t make sense in that (superhero) world.”

The actress seemed to have expected the movie to flop, as she blamed it on film committees attached to such big budget movies that tears movies to shreds such that they become unrecognizable from what they initially were.

“Unfortunately, I’m not surprised that this has gone down the way it has,” Johnson told Bustle. It’s so hard to get movies made, and in these big movies that get made, and it’s even starting to happen with the little ones, which is what’s really freaking me out, decisions are being made by committees, and art does not do well when it’s made by committee.

“But it was definitely an experience for me to make that movie. I had never done anything like it before. I probably never will do anything like it again because I don’t make sense in that world. and I know that now.

“But sometimes in this industry, you sign onto something, and it’s one thing, and then as you’re making it, it becomes a completely different thing, and you’re like “Wait, what?” but it was a learning experience, and of course, it’s not nice to be a part of something that’s ripped to shreds, but I can’t say I don’t understand.”

Madame Web (2024) starred Johnson alongside Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, Celeste O’Connor, Tahar Rahim, and was a critical and commercial failure grossing $91 million out of its $80 million production budget, to sink to 12 percent in Rotten Tomatoes review.
