Real Madrid are monitoring Victor Osimhen as a potential replacement for their talismanic forward, Karim Benzema.

Benzema, 35, remains one of the best of the strikers around despite his age.

The current European champions are however planning for the future and see Osimhen as a potential replacement for the Frenchman.

According to the Spanish news outlet, Fichajes, Real Madrid have not ruled out a future move for Osimhen.

The Nigeria international has been linked with a potential move to several top European clubs, notably Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, primarily due to his fantastic performance this season.

The 24-year-old played a key role in Napoli clinching the Scudetto after over three decades, scoring 23 goals and providing four assists.

Overall, the form of the Nigerian striker, as well as his physical attributes and potential for further development, have all contributed to his status as one of the best young goal-scorers in the world.

Osimhen started playing football in the Ultimate Strikes Academy in Lagos, Nigeria, moving to Wolfsburg in 2017.

After two campaigns in the Bundesliga, he went on a loan to Charleroi. He scored 12 goals in the Belgian Pro League, drawing attention from Lille. He moved to Ligue 1 in 2019, where only one season was enough to earn Osimhen a big move to Serie A.

His first two seasons in Italy were excellent, with the Nigerian scoring 10 and 14 goals in 2020-21 and 2021-22, respectively. But he exploded in 2022-23, leading the club to its third domestic title.
